What kind of phone company doesn't have enough phones...?

Today was a total goatfuck. And my phone/internet provider SUCKS.

It's official: the Ritalin has ceased to work as a get-me-up-on-time medication. I took it at 8 am and nevertheless slept until 3 pm.

I also slept wrong on my right arm. It hurts like a bitch, and I can't raise it over my head.

When George and I got up at 3 pm, we checked our phone messages. Guess what? Yesterday morning our phone/internet service provider, MTS, left a message on our virtual answering machine, in spite of the fact that our phone did not ring. The gist of that message was "call us by 6 pm tomorrow (Tuesday), OR ELSE". No specifying what "OR ELSE" means, but I suspect it might have something to do with cutting off our service (even though I made a substantial payment in the middle of December).

So I try phoning them today, starting at 3:30 pm.

I couldn't get through. Hell, I couldn't even get on HOLD. They're experiencing "higher than average call volume", and in spite of the fact that they offered me a callback later, between 6 pm and 8 pm, well my oh my... "There are no more time slots available for a callback this evening." Then why offer it to me in the first place, you IDIOTS?

My guess is that they phoned a LOT of people with a similar message on Monday (perhaps because they'd been on holidays until then), and now a whole bunch of people, including me, might get our service cut off because a phone company doesn't have enough phones.

If that's the case, I'll be telling them that we're switching to Shaw for our services. Yes, I should have phoned them yesterday or early today, but it's still not acceptable that they can't handle their own incoming call volume.

I didn't get the packages mailed out today, either. Fuck. I feel like the entire day is a loss, in spite of the fact that there's still a few hours left in it.

ouch :( *hugs*

well as a happy/loyal shaw customer i've never once had a problem like that i can honestly say.
and if you do switch over to shaw and digital phone you can keep your phone number which is nice :) though shaw doesn't have a cell phone service... but i can also say that rogers has been pretty good to us for our cell phone service for as long as we have had it (appx 5 yrs)
much luck!!!
