This afternoon I took some time away from MM and went down to the open air market in Osborne Village, which will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm every Thursday through September. There were almost no produce sellers, which was a disappointment (although I did pick up some butter lettuce and a type of radish that George hasn't tried before); however, I was able to buy some edible organic pansies, a piece of honeysuckle wood for the cats (wet it with warm water and watch them go crazy!), and a $5 reusable bag in support of the Manitoba Food Charter.
After that it was off to Safeway, where I picked up quite a few groceries, including a pack of absolutely nummy little garlic/honey pepperoni sticks. As I was leaving the store I happened to see another shopper, also leaving, and wondered at what he was carrying: two reusable bags FULL of fresh flowers and a ready-to-eat deli meal in a plastic bag. Somehow the two things just don't seem to go together...
Now it's back to MM. *sigh*
