Remember that Saturday Night Live fake commercial about the birth control pill that let you have a period once a year?
Well, a commercial just flashed by on my studio TV that honestly had me wondering for a moment if TLC wasn't airing a similar parody ad. But no, it was real, and more than a little scary. So I followed the link they provided and found... well, see for yourself.
Say hello to Seasonique.
What’s different with SEASONIQUE® is that you take 1 birth control pill every day for 3 months instead of 3 weeks, so you have fewer periods than with a monthly birth control pill. Seasonique® is safe, effective birth control that gives you 4 short, light periods a year. With Seasonique® your period should last about 3 days. Also, your period should be as light as with a typical monthly Pill. Keep in mind you’re more likely to have bleeding and spotting between periods. This can be slight to a flow like a regular period and should decrease over time.
If you haven't already watched the video, do so now. I'll wait.
...
Don't you think that somewhere on the Seasonique site there should be a similar disclaimer: "Hold on to your f*cking hat!"
This can't be a good idea. Can it?
