ETA: Good points, everyone! And no, I didn't believe the "55 people" clause -- I only included it because it was in the original post I received. Take it for what it's worth.

The thing about this is:
* The first and last letters of every word have been preserved (excluding the title, which I assume is your own addition); as a side-effect, the two- and three- letter words, of which there are plenty, have been left intact.
* Everything is still organized into somewhat sensible syllables; a lot of it resembles common typoes, in fact
* The word choices are mostly quite predictable
* Most of the words are fairly short and simple.

I'll bet it would be a fair bit harder to make out if none of this were true. In fact, it's not hard to find puzzles made up of scrambled words that it actually takes a fair amount of thought to decipher.

Also, each word lends context to the previous or following word.

Yeah, that's kind of what my third point was getting at, but you said it better.

Funny enough, this was almost exactly what [livejournal.com profile] tnh said when this first made the rounds, though she still posted it on her weblog for the amusement of seeing it deconstructed by the terrifying number linguists in fandom.

It's still entertaining how many ways people will try to justify their own bad spelling. :)
